Your home or car insurance usually covers the lawyer’s fees
Home insurance (kotivakuutus) and comprehensive motor insurance (kasko) in Finland normally include legal expenses cover (oikeusturvavakuutus). It usually pays your lawyer’s fees in a dispute over a car you bought — we invoice your insurance company directly after the case ends, so you pay nothing while the case is running.
If you have home insurance, you may already have this cover without knowing it. We check it for you first, and checking costs you nothing. Legal expenses cover normally has a deductible that you pay at the end — we tell you what yours is before we start.
We can help if:
- the seller hid a fault, or described the car as better than it was
- a serious fault appeared soon after you bought the car
- the dealer refuses to repair the car, refuses to cancel the purchase, or has stopped answering you
